The best standing example of a company owned coal town in Ohio exists at this location just off the Johnson Rd. exit of Rt. 33. Wooden “four square” and “shotgun” style company houses and the original company store are in the process of restoration and house two restaurants (Jana’s Soul Food and Zoe’s) as well as On The Path Holistic Health Center.
If traveling with bike or on foot, Eclipse provides access to the Adena Hock-Hocking Bikeway, a 17 mile “rails-to-trails” route connecting Nelsonville and Athens, home to historic and picturesque Ohio University.
Eclipse is host to the Little Cities Appalachian Spring Festival the second Saturday of May (Noon-5PM) each year featuring food, music, art, a benefit auction and history/eco exhibits. The Tour de Forest bicycle ride departs from this location the morning of the event
